The Alaska Custom Hummer Excursion is the ultimate Skagway shore excursion where you’re in charge! Your personal chauffeur/guide will be your host to create an experience that includes whatever you want to do. Select from a menu of tour options, add your own personal touches, then combine those with the comfort and elegance of a luxuriously appointed Hummer®, and upscale service for the perfect Alaska experience. Your rugged yet plush Hummer H2®, is your vantage point for four or eight hours to experience Skagway and venture in one of two directions. First, you could tour the charming town of Skagway and visit the Gold Rush Cemetery near lower Reid Falls, where one of the most notorious con men in history, “Soapy Smith”, was buried. You can opt to travel along the route of the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush towards Dawson City through the White Pass, crossing the cable-stayed, Captain William Moore Bridge, and into the Yukon Territory. You can also visit world-renowned waterfalls including Pitch Fork Falls, which provides Skagway’s power, and Bridal Veil Falls, a long steep cascade of a Skagway River tributary. Bove Island in Tagash Lake is a possible photo stop after passing through the historic gold rush supply center of Carcross, which used to be a hunting and fishing camp for the Inland Tlingit and Tagish people. Continue a few miles north and pass through the world’s smallest desert, measuring one square mile. Continue north to the perfect turnaround point, Emerald Lake, notable for its intense green color. Or, head the other direction and follow the turnout to the Skagway Overlook, then take the scenic drive to the National Historic Park of Dyea, which spans diverse ecosystems from subarctic to coastal, home of the most reported species of lichen. On this route, you can experience wild Alaska, with possible bear and bald eagle sightings. You’ll find it hard to believe that this was at the heart of the gold rush boom years ago, and now it is the starting point of the famous Chilkoot trail. You’ll be briefed on a variety of tour options that are available for you. Do as much, or as little, as you like. Select from active experiences or the more mellow. Mix and match. It’s entirely your choice. Have a special interest like photography or hiking? No problem. Your chauffeur/guide can help you create a tour experience that is entirely of your own creation. In addition to being your driver and tour escort, your chauffeur/guide is at your beck and call. Think of him as your personal concierge. On an Alaska Custom Hummer® Excursion, you call the shots. Our job is to help you experience Skagway in the very best way possible. APPROX.
